Banzai

BANZAI CLIFF (B)- A beautiful pinnacle or wall located on the North side of the island. There is only a brief time during the year when conditions are suitable for diving, but it is well worth the wait if you like the big blue dives. If you are offered the chance to do this dive, don't pass it up. The coral on top of the pinnacle (which is only 45ft.) is exceptional and since it rises out of the blue large fish such as sharks, rays, tuna, napoleon wrasses are often seen.

Depths range from 45ft to 130+ft.

Season: June - September

Current: None to Strong. Because of the currents this site is only divable a brief time during the year. Even during the season currents can be very strong.

Visibility: 80ft - 150ft.

Richard, is this the dive marked by the bouy as you round the point just past the 'washing machine' next to Bonzai?

There are two moorings at Banzai. Fairly close to the point. If the current is strong they might not be up. Try diving during slack tide.
